Elementor can control much of the page layout across many compatible themes. The block editor’s capabilities are more closely connected to the active theme, especially when using full-site editing.
Performance and output
Either approach can produce a fast or slow site. The result depends on the chosen widgets or blocks, scripts, images, fonts, extensions, and design complexity. Test the actual page rather than assuming one editor guarantees performance.
Maintenance and handover
Consider who will edit the site later. A visual builder can be comfortable for design teams, while native blocks may reduce the number of essential plugins. Consistency, documentation, and reusable patterns matter in both workflows.
Choosing a workflow
Elementor may fit projects that need detailed visual control and a broad template ecosystem. The block editor may fit teams that prefer a core WordPress workflow and theme-based design system. A small prototype usually reveals which approach is easier for the project.
